5pm: visionaries + voices art class. as part of our commitment to making contemporary art a part of daily life, 21c museum hotel cincinnati is partnering with visionaries and voices to present free monthly art classes in the gallery spaces at 21c. this month’s v+v@21c class will feature teaching artist jackie fischer. jackie is known for her maze-like vibrant marker drawings. she begins her compositions with a large “s” shape. from that initial mark, she creates pencil curves and shapes that reflect the twisting and turning of feathers, scales, roots, and rivers. these works recall bold graphics of tribal tattoos, inked onto magenta and sky blue, lavender and citrus orange backgrounds. all materials provided. and if all the creative energy makes you thirsty, our friends at metropole are shaking up some specials on their crafty cocktails (just $8/each) and are offering $5 local draft beers for class attendees. 21c museum hotel. free. >>

8pm: classical revolution. the purpose of this series is to design opportunities for classical musicians to share their craftwork and to augment the availability of classical music in the community. our performers are professional musicians, conservatory students, and accomplished amateurs. many are employed by regional orchestras and ensembles including the cincinnati symphony orchestra, the dayton philharmonic, west virginia symphony orchestra, cincinnati chamber orchestra, concert:nova and more. together we represent the teachers and performers in our community and our participation in classical revolution cincinnati is a form of outreach to engage the general public in listening to and talking about music. northside tavern. free. >>
